Background and Professional Experience

Scott is an experienced financial services professional with over 35 years in the industry.  He offers expertise in insurance and investments¹ with a client centered focus.  As a financial adviser offering investment advisory services through Eagle Strategies, LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser, Scott offers comprehensive financial planning and investment services on a fee basis.

Scott joined New York Life in 1986 as an agent in the Chicago Loop General Office and has held a wide variety of positions with New York Life over his career.  These include General Agent for New York Life, in Heidelberg, Germany; Regional Training Officer, Managing Partner, and Corporate Vice President in Connecticut and New York; and Senior Vice President with New York Life International in Seoul, South Korea.

Prior to joining New York Life, Scott served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army.  On active duty he served as a Cavalry Troop and Tank Company Commander and as a Military Advisor to the Lebanese Army.  As a Reserve Officer, Scott was recalled to active duty for the Persian Gulf War and served with the VII Corps in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne, Ranger, Armor Basic, Infantry Advanced, and Command & General Staff schools, and retired in 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Scott graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1977.  He earned a Masters of Science in Financial Services Management (MSM) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, in1997.  He also holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF). He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 licenses as a Registered Representative through NYLIFE Securities LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, A Licensed Insurance Agency.

Scott and his wife Barrett have been married since 1978, and reside in Palm Coast, FL.  They are blessed with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  Scott is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW, and is the past President of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the West Point Society of Connecticut .
